Lowell McKelvey

Lowell McKelvey has been a trial lawyer in Oregon since 1999 and in Washington since 2003. He began his career as a prosecutor in Washington and Multnomah Counties where he learned the art of trial work. After four years of criminal law (he still occasionally defends DUIIs for select clients), Lowell began working at a Portland insurance defense firm in 2003. It was at this firm he and Kenji Kozuma met; the genesis of McKelvey Kozuma PC, although that wasn’t known at the time. Over ten years, Lowell became partner, then managing partner, of his former firm, and when the time was right he left that firm to form McKelvey Kozuma PC.

Originally from New England, Lowell arrived in Oregon via college in Texas and law school in Montana. A whitewater raft guide in his pre-law life, he now lives in Hood River and practices both from there and in Portland.
